i have a psp and i use a converter to convert my .mkv and .ogm files to mpeg 4 format however when i play the converted video the subtitles dont show up. please i need help i dont know what im doing wrong
Do you mean that when you play the converted video on the PC there are no subtitles? My understanding of PSP (which is next to nothing) is the the subs are burned in permanently to the video (ie they cannot be switched off). 'Avidemux' has two settings for 'PSP' format and it allows you to add a subtitle file and burn it to the video. This is the preview of a video using the PSP setting - but I don't have a PSP to test them. The source file is dragged into the window. Click 'Auto' and select PSP. Click 'Filters' on the left window and load the subtitles then save the new file. http://fixounet.free.fr/avidemux/
the thing with the .mkv videos i have is the subtitles dont come in a seperate file i am only able to view them when i use vlc and select the subtitles is there any way for me to extract the subtitles as a seperate file from the videos so that when i go to convert them i can use the separate files for the subtitles
Download and install 'MKVtoolnix' Download the associated GUI file 'MKVExtractGUI'. Copy the files contained in the MKVExtractGUI to the installed folder location of MKVtoolnix. Run MKVExtractGUI and load the MKV source file. Check the subtitles that you want to extract. http://www.videohelp.com/tools/MKVtoolnix http://www.videohelp.com/tools/MKVExtractGUI
I don't have any .ogm files to test it. Looks simple enough. Good luck http://www.videohelp.com/tools/OGMDemuxer
