I have been using nero for a good while now with very little problems, any that I have had have been very kindly solved by the very helpful buddies on here so am looking to see if anyone can help me with this problem. Just over the last week or so, burning with nero express with converted files by dvdx to dvd, it has been very hit and miss. Sometime will burn sometimes not. Now I have got this error report and as usual it looks like a foreign language to me but i'm sure someone can help. When the report error message to microsoft box comes on the screen, it says theres a known fault, it directs you to nero's download page for an update of premium 7 but then comes up with a fault and dosnt fix it. Anyway, anyone any ideas, maybe it's a hardware issue rather than software as other programs are having problems too. Thanks Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: - NT-SPTI used Nero Version: 7.7.5.1 Internal Version: 7, 7, 5, 1 (Nero Express) Recorder: <PHILIPS DVDR1660P1> Version: P1.5 - HA 1 TA 0 - 7.7.5.1 Adapter driver: <IDE> HA 1 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ? Oh, when I try to download the update from nero website, after downloading it, it wont run as microsoft says it's security cert isnt right
Have got the update done now, checked the firmware for my burner and it's up to date, but still no go, any ideas anyone?
Actually, there is a firmware update for your drive here: http://www.storageupdates.philips.com/en/dvdrw.html It's from Sept. 2006. Looks like you might need your serial number or official model number to get the right one. Also, your disks possibly aren't the greatest. Disc Manufacturer: TTH02 -. Could be fake, could be made in India (not the greatest place for manufacture) and could be CMC manufacture which isn't looked upon fondly in these forums. I'd try a different brand of disk before upgrading my Nero. Your download problem I can't help you with, maybe someone else will put their 2 cents in on that issue.
When I also updated the Nero 7, I already had the 7 ultra enhanced version, but updated it again, and windows did open up a box that says something like "Windows did not like the file" because of an "unknown publsher", so I just hit OK and it went away... no idea why it said that, since I got it right off the NERO site also.
Generally speaking,if you are going to update Nero, you first have to uninstall your current version, and then run the cleaners to remove the last traces before you reinstall. To be on the smart side, before you uninstall a version, you look up and write down the current version's serial number, "just in case". The first thing I'd try on correcting your problem is to try a different media. That might be your main problem.
In regards to the media, I have been working my way through a 100 box, have used 75 odds with no problems. Computer was bought in early 07 and have checked with philips and the firmware is up to date. I just imagine it's a burner issue as I am unable to burn with any other programs either Thanks
