    Hi anyone

Can anyone help me with this problem?

I have a laptop on which I use when I am travelling, so I play a few games and things whilst I am waiting for travel connections.
The problem I have is that my computers memory just suddenly jumps to near 100% when I play games, or watch DVD's...listening to music can be a bit risky on memory too!

A few days before, I used to do the same things on it with no problems...but now it beeps constantly and after about 10 minutes of gameplay or watching DVD's it crashes (the games I play, are simple ones like Pinball)

I checked it and the memory sticks are in properly and are not damaged

    Has anyone got any idea's?

How much memory do you have and are you running Vista?

There isn't actually anything wrong with using up all your memory, this isn't like the cpu where something is hogging all the memory and not allowing anything else to use it. If somehing needs more memory than what you have available windows will just get rid of any low-priority prefetched code and make room.

IMO the memory "jumping" and mobo beeping is some side-effect of a different problem with your laptop that is causing your games to crash and dvds to crash - memory doesn't do that. What the problem may be I have no idea.

I have a 512mb and I am running xp pro

I get 100% from the Ctl-Alt-Del report (I think thats the memory consumption?)

    Still Confused.com...but thanks anyway!
