That card should work fine with your TV, you presumably haven't set it up right. You need to change the sound output on your PC from your normal sound card to the HDMI Audio of the graphics card - it won't automatically be done for you.

Start -> Control Panel -> Sound (Sounds and Audio Devices for XP) -> Audio -> Default Device
Change it to anything that mentions HDMI audio. Note that you will have to have the HDMI audio driver installed for this to work - AMD's website should provide the details for this.

It could potentially be called S/PDIF instead. Normally I wouldn't consider that the same thing, but some people report that changing to that helped them out.

I think I figured out what the problem was, apparently I need to download Microsoft Hotfix (KB888111) before I install the audio drivers. Could someone tell me how to uninstall the hdmi audio drivers?

The install wizard in theory should give you the option to uninstall if you run it again.

I still have no sound, does anyone know of anything else I can try. I have video but no audio and there is no hdmi option under the 'sounds' screen. Is there something Im missing in the Bios screen, should I disable the current audio even though there isn't an option for hdmi at this point, would that just give me no audio at all. Does anyone else have this, or a similar, card running hdmi with sound? Thanks.

I simply cannot get the hdmi audio option to come up as available option. It seems many people have similar problem with this card. Are there any other cards that have the capability to do this function. Even if I have to run an audio chord, although it would have to be about 40 ft long due to my tv being located in a different room than my desktop, that would be fine. I primarily want one that is easy to install!! Im fed up with this one. Thanks for the help.
