I am looking into getting a BenQ 1655 drive but it needs to be installed externally. Does anyone have any suggestions on what external enclosure to purchase with this drive? I have read that the Prolific chipset (3507 I believe) is one of the best. Any help would be great!
You can buy the BenQ DW1655 and the 5.25" USB2.0/Firewire external enclosure. Then put them together. You will have BenQ DW1655 external drive.

The external enclosure way is a nice trick, but sometimes there are compatibility issues between your Burner and Enclosure. You could end up with a big chunky thing with subpar performance. I oughta know. I'm still trying to make my enclusure work via Firewire since USB transfer doesn't allow me to burn higher than 4x.
