I recently purchased a Supercard DS One SDHC and I was wondering if its comparable to something such as the M3 DS Real. Does it have just as good compatibility as the M3DSR with new games such as Crystal Chronicles and the like. I've searched and I couldn't find the answer I was looking for. Thanks in advance.

I owned both at a time (well, technically I still do...), and the compatibility of the games seemed pretty solid on both. Any problems I had was easily fixed but switching the patch option on/off (SCDSOne), turning off soft reset (M3DSR), and etc. I don't know about the newer games, but I've never had problems with either.

You probably should know that I sold off the Supercard to one of my friends because I liked the M3 better. The reason for this was that the Supercard, though it had neat features like real time saving and in-game cheat options, the thing was too damn hard to figure out. To even get the cheats you want you have to go through some kind of weird complicated process that should be really easy. The m3 supports 5 different formats, including the one Datel uses in their ARDS Software. You can easily make an UPDATED list of every game for the DS and copy it to your SD card no problem. Also, another major reason that I sold it off was that homebrew needed to be DLDI patched, something the M3 does on its own. I don't think the Supercard does that.

It's notable the the M3 DS Real has some drawbacks, such as some homebrew (2D games mainly) don't run, but there may be a work-around for that, and there are some things that the M3 Manual doesn't even mention you can do, such as GBA linkage. I've also heard something about built-in emulators, but I'm not entirely sure it's a rumor or a work-in-progress or what. If you're looking to buy another card, you oughta check out the CycloDS, as I heard it was pretty good with similar features, and I believe a new review came out just a week ago on gbatemp.net that you should look at.

So the SC is harder to use? It doesn't have a cheat menu like the M3 does? And does it support DS download play and wifi? I know I won't use a lot of homebrew, so I don't care much about that nor real time save as I'm a bit skeptical as to what might happen. I don't like using cheats, but that was a major function I was looking forward to. The main reason I got this was because the M3 was sold out and I couldn't find any other retailers that were stocked with it.

The cheat menu on the SC is better than the one for the M3 as it can activate cheats as well as turn them off during the game. However, updating these cheats is tedious, and I never did figure out how to do it. As for download play and wifi, I don't see why wifi wouldn't work. Download play may have issues but I never tried it. The M3 supports both flawlessly using tokyotrimmer, and I frequently use this feature to play mario kart ds with my friends. Amd yes, the SC is a little more confusing. There's a lot more thing you can tweak that can potentially mess up the booting process and you won't be able to play your rom, such as rom file size.

Forgot to mention that the SC is a bit slower than the M3 is as far as loading roms is. It's a little annoying but it's bearable. The M3 boots usually in about 5 seconds.

Overall though, since you've already got the SC, I don't see any reason to buy the M3. I'm sure you'll feel content with it once you learn a bit about operating it and such, and maybe figure out how to update your cheats.

I received it today and I do like the SC, but theres an issue with wifi on FF:CC. Every time I get to a certain point it says "communication error" when my friend an I are next to each other. Is there a way to fix this? And as for cheats, I found a site that has cheats for download for games. Its

Edit: Found out how to fix the wifi problem. Due to the games new protection method, I had to disable patching and now it works fine. Thanks for your help! It was very appreciated!

Yeah, just remember that if you have issues with a rom, the patch is the first thing you should switch. Some games work better with it off, and most games will work one way or another.
