Do I have to shrink it? If so How? Can someone tell me how to do this step by step cheers... thanks in advance.
Hi burkey83 Have Nero? If you do and you may have VisionExpress (Nero 6) or Vision (Nero 7). Here's a guide for Nero 7 but Nero 6 is very similar. If not here's a free program to try avi2dvd guide To burn you can use the updated version of decrypter - ImgBurn
Which version of Nero do you have - 6 or 7? Is it an oem version (like came with a burner) or did you buy it? (full version). The free one to try is avi2dvd (links above)
@burkey83 How did the file come? Is it a DVD9 disc? Is It a DVD5 disc? Is it an AVI file? If it is DVD9 then the size of the DVD will be over 4.7GB If it is a DVD5 and has already been compressed then the size should be lower then 4.7GB but not much lower. If it is a VCD or an AVI file then it can be between 600MB to 1.5GB in that area. The more information you can give the more helpful we can be. I only asked this because I did not see in any of the other post what type of Video it was you downloaded.
Hey, yeah sorry, im not really great with all these different terms etc. I downlaoded it as a torrent. Sorry I cant be more specific but as I said im not really great with this. Have very very limited knowledge of this kinda stuff...
Well you need to learn the terms so we can better help you. You can download multiple types of Video files from a torrent. If it is an ISO and 4.7GB or around there then all you will need to do is burn it to a single layer disc. If it is an ISO and more then 4.7GB of size then you will need to burn it to a Dual-Layer disc or extract the files from the ISO and transcode it to a single layer disc. If it is an AVI file usually between 600MB to 1.5GB you will need to convert it to DVD compliant files unless you have a DVD player that is compatible with AVI (Xvid/DivX files) We need to know what you have downloaded so we can point you in the correct direction. If you have a ISO file telling you to download Avi2DVD or ConvertXTODvd is not going to help you out. So read up on what the difference terms are in the Glossary section of the forum and learn what the terms are and mean. What's the file extension at the end of the file??? Edit: Right click the file and select properties and see what the file extension is!
If you are using Windows XP you can see what the size is by either hovering over the file and information on the file should come up after you hover over the file for a few seconds or click on the file so it is highlighted and then look to the left of that window and look under the Details which should tell you the size of the file. Choosing the properties as suggested above will not give you the extension. It will just give you what type of file it is. Image/Video Clip/Application etc. etc. You can find out what file extension it is by going to the folder the file is in and follow the directions below when you are in that folder... Go to the top of the window and click Tools/Folder Options/Click on View Tab now uncheck the box that says (Hide extensions of known file types) After you unchecked that box click Apply then OK to close the Options window and you should now see the extension of the file. (The extension is the 3 letters after the file name ExampleFileName.EXT)
