I'm trying to create a SVCD from an ISO image file with Nero. However, during the burn process Nero complains about a "Foreign Image". So I select Data Mode 2, Raw Data, 2352 and Nero seems happy enough. I am using a 900MB (99 min) disc which appears to burn succesfully, and plays on my PC with PowerDVD. However it doesn't play on my stand alone DVD player (Sony DAVS800). The player seems to think that Track 1 is 0 minutes long? The standalone DVD player happily plays other SVCDs made from AVI or MPEG2 files. The difference I've noticed is that a succesful disc has an 'Item0001' in the Segment folder on the disc, but the unsuccesful disc has NO such 'Item0001'. Why does this happen, or is it even relevant? Any body got any ideas? Do I need to do anything to the ISO image file before burning it to disc? I don't exactly end up with 'coasters', but they're not much better! Any help appreciated. Cheers, Slinky
I think I can answer my own question, after trying a few things. I'm not sure if this is the easiest (or even necessary) way to get around the problem I had, but it worked. I used VCDEasy to rip the movie.BIN file then used the AVSEQ file output to create the SVCD. Where as before the ITEM001 was missing from the segment folder, it was there after burning with Nero. Movie worked and was cool. Slinky
