Actually, the problem is that A DOWNLOADED COPY OF SWAP MAGIC WILL NOT WORK! the instructions you are following is for the no solder mod chip, do you even have that?

whats up everyone? Im new to this and Im looking for alittle guidance.

sly_61019 I understand what you said about the downloaded versions not booting, but I had a download of swapmagic and it is reconized by the console and reads "Please insert (blah blah) PS2 game disc. My question is will a downloaded swap magic normally get to that point or not read at all? Could it be my game backup was no good?

Also Im going to buy Swap Magic- any verison you guys recommend cause Ive been seeing 3.3 I think- and any recommendations on a reliable site to purchase it from.

Thanks alot for any help you may be able to give on this.

actually, someone else already told you how to do it. boot action replay, pick your cheats, then insert the swap magic dvd/cd. let it load again, then swap for your backup game.
