Hi so I have the dirty disc problem with my xbox. Its intermittent but still a pain. Also I cannot read any music CD-Rs that I burn. So I purchased a new replacement DVD drive for my xbox off of ebay a TGM600. When I received it I immediately tried hooking it up and I receive the error screen with the 07 so error code 7. I know nothing broke on the xbox itself during the install because I can swap the old dvd drive and the new one back and forth and the system will boot with the old drive but I continue to get the error code with the old. From what I understood it was a simple swap and replace repair with a new drive but is there anything else I'm missing or any ideas why I am receiving that error? Thanks a bunch for any help I can get.
make sure the power cables are in good and the ide cables if that dont work then that DVD Drive is messed up because it should just be an easy switch i have did it numerous times....if that dont work i have an extra drive i could sell ya for pretty cheap to just pm me.....
