Swapping a laptop harddrive?

    My laptop has stopped working and the shop I took it too say the motherboard has gone. I have another laptop, can I take out the harddrive of the broken one and put it in the working laptop? I need to backup something from one of the programs.

    get an external 2.5" usb2 drive enclosure as unlikely your laptop can handle 2 internal drives at once.
