Hey Guys, My laptop that I used before has broken the motherboard has failed, I'm planning to now buy a brand new laptop. However, How will I transfer the data into this new laptop. Is it possible that I can just put back in my old hard drive into this new laptop and it will run similar to what I did with my old laptop. Any way to clone my current hard drive and put it on a new one. Thanks Guys!
unless new laptop is identical to old laptop then can't clone. use old hd as external hd to get data off onto new laptop.
You could put the old drive in the new laptop . You have to have the Windows disc though . Since hardware is different Windows will not run straight after the swap . Instead you will need to run the Windows installation disc and run the repair at the second screen . This will install drivers for the new hardware found by windows without losing your data . You may need to find some drivers not found by windows .
