System Restore on a external hard drive?

    I messed up my one PC and it wont boot.
    So how do I do a system restore on it??
    I have the HDD hooked up to a working computer but I dont no how to restore it?

    I went into my PC (f8 on boot)

    and went to boot at the last point windows worked and that did not work

    If you tried system restore and it didn't work, probably you messed it really bad. I hope you had backups. That way you can do an OS clean install.

    if windows is on both internal & external hd's with external from another computer than systen restore won't work on external hd. system restore only works on the windows that the restore is about to operate from.

    That's true. I guess I didn't read well. I've got to stop posting at 3:00 am.
