Note: I mistakenly posted this in the wrong forum I think, CDR and digital audio discussion. I tried to delete and or edit that post out of existance but could find no function to do so on here. After cleaning out my computer by using various registry and adware removal software I found on rebooting my computer I found this message:ElbyCheck has detected a corrupt Filter Driver PxHelp20 This driver will prevent your CD-Roms to work properly." I took the option to delete this file. I rebooted and found that Windows XP could no longer find my CD ROM which is a TDK 880NRead/RW I fixed that by resinstalling the Elby software and or reconnecting the power cable but now my TDK 880NRead/RW can't read ANY disc at all! My Nero Burning ROM Version 6.6.0 15 reads the TDK 880NRead/RWbut it does not read any disc. My explorer reads the drive as does any software but no file explorer or software will let the drive recognize any media, though Nero does open and close the drive for me. I updated the firmware for the TDKTDK 880NRead/RW. Device manager shows that all hardware and drivers are functioning properly.
Did you try uninstalling the TDK drive in Device Manager? When you reboot, Windows will find it as a new dvice. Leave the reinstalled Elby software. Drive should work.
Yes, I have done that and all the ide channels the problem is the drive is there, recognized as online but does not work anymore at all. Nero will read the drive as there by name and open the drive and eject the disc but not read the disc.
