Hi guys, I'm new here although I; now and again browse the forum - this is a really cool forum, busy and helpful so now I'm joining.

Ok so recently, my friend sent me an MP3 - It was like for The Friends episode season finale or something and whoever made it, had a certain song playing in the background - and throughout it, say every 20 seconds - he got certain lines or phrases from the episodes and nicely blended them in to a real good effect and make it into an MP3

I'm an OC fan and want to do something similar.

I have chosen an MP3 to use as a background -

Now I have a few .avi files of different OC episodes I want to use and take out maybe certain lines.

My questions to you is, how can I do this -

What tools do I need to extract this small "lines" from the .AVI -

Then also lastly what tool do I need to try and embed it into an .mp3?

I would really appreciate this help. It's also for a college project - and I have a real good idea for something. 'Just for extra information, even though you guys probably don't care - it's for a Art show I'm planning on being in and I want it to have a sad tone to it so I'm taking some so called "touching" lines with a sad song in the background.

Would love some good help on this people - would mean alot to me and if I can help anyone back in anways, as I do pretty good web designing, I would be glad to.

    Thank you

you should be able to use virtualdub to isolate the audio track from the video file, then use dBPowerAMP (link to website in my sig below) to convert the wave file to mp3

Ok so basically I have to take out the entire audio from the .AVI which will leave me with a big ass .WAV file

    Then convert .WAV to .MP3

Then what can I use to cut the MP3 so I just use the part I need?

And also what do I use to embed this ripped .MP3 into an original .MP3?

    Thanks

before you encode the wave to mp3, open the wave file up in Audacity. It is a free audio editor utility. you can cut out only the section you want then export just that clip.
