    As long as you use good high quality media, the rebuilder default target size shouldn't cause any problems.

    CCEtargetsectors= will of course only work with CCE

    since i see no preference for any encoder in the initial posting i'd rather use:

    TargetSectors=

    which is the global command for ALL encoders

    Sorry to dig up this old thread, but I've got a couple of questions regarding this topic.

    1) Where is an explanation of the values for TargetSectors ?? "CCETagetSectors=2260000" equals what ?? 4.1gb, 4.4gb, etc, etc ??

    2) Is a similar option available with the HC encoder ??

    I did a movie using both encoders. I think I left all options the same between the two and HC's version came out to 4.1gb while CCE's came out to 4.3 or 4.4gb.

    as far as a data base I know of none but you can insert your media and in imgburn or decrypter it will list the secotrs here is what it shows for my single layer +R media => Free Sectors: 2,295,104

    single layer -R's => Free Sectors: 2,297,888

    notice the difference, remember to leave room for error!
    the sectors hold a certain amount of data at different bitrates

    so the sectors is a better indicator of size than mb's or gb's

    concerning differences each encoder will handle the movie differently due to different analysis technique's and ability to distribute the bitrate constantly or variably!

    using the setting (in the quote)in the ini. file will force both encoders to aim for that output!
