I changed internet providers and not sure if that is the problem or not, but unable to download any TDF files. My current provider is Optimun on Line. Does anyone else have this problem and what can I do to correct it. I really would like to continue using XcopyXpress but need the TDF files. First post, so hopfully I'm doing this right. Any help would be greatly appreiated. Thanks to all.
Well I know this is your first post and as such this question really doesn't belong here. This is a media forum not a problem with dvd burning. But any way I am a DVDxCopy user and Have never needed a TDF file for backing up discs. Have you just tried performing the backup without the TDF. I know this is run around on your question. But I would try that first. You might find that they really aren't needed.

Thank you both for replying. Yes, I always try to back up my DVD's first without a TDF file but some DVD's are encrpted and I don't know how to back them up without using the TDF files. I wasn't sure where to put this question, since I couldn't find any other information about TDF files anywhere on the After dawn site. How do you back up encrpted DVD's without using TDF files?
I've never understood TDF's. But are you saying TDF's will help crack the css encryption? That would be a first. I thought they were only to help fix minor problems like making sure the title sets are in order.
First let me answer the last question, because some people are being nice enough to answer my questions. I have XcopyXpress, DVDshrink, DVDcyrpter, and Nero. Still not having any luck. I can get the movie onto my hard drive but can't burn it onto a DVD. Yes, I have a DVD burner and my computer is a Campaq S3500L with P4 processor and 512 mg. I have been using computer since the last 70's but for some reason I just can't burn DVD's without the TDF files. If I'm causing too much trouble with posting my questions to this form, then just let me know and I will try some place else. I don't understand TDF files either but I do know I can copy DVD's that are encrpted using the TDF files. I put the Return of the King through the DVDcrypter and through I was burning it onto a DVD using Nero. But I can watch the movie from my hard drive and this DVD but it won't play in my stand alone DVD player.
Ahhh more info ... that's a good thing Your not causing any trouble, but you would get more replies if you posted in "dvd-r newbies" or "dvd+/-r one click transcoding tools". You said you ran it through Decrypter. When you use DVD Decrypter and rip it to your HD, it removes any css encryption. Are you using ISO's or video_ts files? So you can watch the burned dvd on your pc, right? but not your standalone. First, I'm using video_ts. Second, I didn't think there was any differant DVD's that are ripped. I know I can view the ones I do with TDF files and I can view the ones that a friend of mine did using Nero. But so far I'm not having any luck. Where do I find dvd-r newbies" or "dvd+/-r one click transcoding tools". ? I would be more than happy to move to another area but that is the reason I posted here is because I couldn't find any questions concerning downloading TDF files.
Huh?? It's one of the different forum topics, but also posting there now would be multiposting ... which you shouldn't do. Maybe we can get a MOD to place this in the right place. What O/S are you using? And what is your process using Shrink/Decrypter/Nero?

Most definitely ... there are many different brands of media. Most problems come from poor quality media ie.cheap media. What brand are you using? Using Shrink w/ Decrypter: 1) Open Shrink, open disc 2) Click "backup!" 3) Change target destination to "ISO Image File", and check the box to Launch DVD Decrypter 4) Click ok Using Shrink w/ Nero 1) Open Shrink, click edit then preferences 2) Under the File I/O tab, check the box to Enable burning with Nero, click ok/apply. 3) Click "backup!" 4) Change your target destination to your burner 5) Click ok
