   got a telecine movie file how do i encode it to a standard i can veiw please help

   Easiest method is to load the avi(im assuming that it is) into virtualdub and enabling its IVTC filter by going into the video menu and selecting frame rate. Choose Reconstruct from Fields- adaptive.
