Myself and several friends went in together and bought a 100 pack of 16X Verbatim. Most of us use the Plextor PX-716A.We also used Sony 710A and Sony 720A. We split up the pack and started a test.We wanted to burn at 16x and pass them around and test on different players. We used a Magnavox and Cyber Home from Walmart. A Sony from Sams Club. Amd my recorder which is a Phillips. After two weeks of testing there was one that skipped in the Cyber Home. The laser was making a loud noise. It does it most of the time anyway.I cleaned it with a disk and that stopped the skipping but the noise was still there. Most of the testing was done with home movies from softball games. However, I copied a few movies that I had backed up on my hard drive. We concluded that the 16X burns fine with little or no trouble. The Plextor has 8 MB of buffer over run. We all feel that if you have a good computer and you check disk and defrag you will not have problems. The Plextor burns consistance at 6 mins with 4.3G. It burns a 8x at about 7 min. No reason for me to go back to the 8X.I had problems backing up Notebook and burning with a Sony. My Plextor does it fine now.

    Thanks
