To be honest i have never used any of them

Im a big fan of Tag&Rename. its one of the most comprehensive renamers around from what i have seen. you can use tag's to rename files and vice versa has cddb support also.

    Give it a look

I've never heard any of those programs myself. If you're looking for a good file renamer or for tagging audio files, I would get MP3tag.

    http://www.mp3tag.de/en/

123renamer is not free. If you look at the site it says Free to try for 20 days. That's trialware.

Tried the two program you mentioned. I don't think they're all that great.

MP3tag can also do manual batch file renaming as well.

Try the program and out and if you need help, I'll even walk you thourgh it.

The both mentioned progs, [bold] 1-4a rename[/bold] and [bold] Rename Master[/bold], is a standalone executables, which does not require installation, can run from flash drive or floppy. Also, they does not install DLLs, and do not write data into registry, so will not mess your system by installing various files. This is great advantage.

In addition, the Rename Master source code available by request.

I am interseting only in programs that does not require installation and not write data into registry.

1-4a rename is not bad for simple renaming utility.

does Tag&Rename instal some DLLs? Does it store all settings in registry? They provide a zero support for programs.

The program Tag&Rename is bundled in a installer. So to answer the question. Yes, it does come with dlls and yes it does add information to the registry. The program is trialware and is good for 30 days. The cost of the program is $29.95 for a single license.

Just out of curiosity, why is adding file to the registry such a bad thing in your book glider?

well, I try utilities on working machine, where many important programs installed, and I do not want to stuff a machine with the programs which I use rarely.(renaming is rare task)
