Hey, i am fairly new to the whole dvd burning process, and iwas just wondering if there is any way to completely replicate a dvd, no matter what it is. i am talking about programs that you can purchase that basically allow you to burn any dvd with one click, or something similar?
An exact answer to your question is NO. This would entail copying all the protection schemes along with the regular DVD files. I assume you mean to replicate a DVD for a backup with no compression. If this is the case, then YES. There are programs and procedures that do this, but usually with more than "one click". Search, read, think and you will be rewarded.

Well, If you want an easy route, I would suggest using AnyDVD with CloneDVD2 from slysoft. They are always updating their software and it works great and is very easy to use. I mainly use Anydvd with DVDShrink and Imgburn myself but there are several different programs that you could use that would work as well.
Well, anytime you compress the movie, regardless of what program you are using, you will lose some quality. It just depends on how much you have to compress. Most of the time, I only copy the movie only so that I can free up disc space by not having all the extra crap thats on the disc.
I only backup the movie only and play them back on a 42 inch plasma and they look great to me I can't tell the difference from the one I bought from the store or the backup
