before i start,i have tried every other thread here to try and solve this problem but with no job so i am not just looking for an easy way out. Up until thursday(20th sept) i had all the 174 or so channels received on The Box.(N*L comin direct into the house). When i went to update(in order to receice the LFC channel) i realised i lost some channels. From other threads i realise that it is broadcasting on the rangers channel, which has disseapeared.I have tried manually tuning it in(394250 mhz,6887 ksps),64 qam) but with no joy. Many auto scans, lowest frequency, turning box on and off but i still only get 131 channels and 33 radio stations. Any idea why i lost some? My neighbour in same estate is still receiving all 174 channels through the same sources so i have a feeling it could be my line but not sure why it went now when i went to tune in for the first time in 3-4 months... If anybody can help i would appreciate it.cheers
Have you tried this method courtesy of Celt. Try this Menu > Factory Setting PIN 1570 OK to delete Turn box off at the back for a minute and turn back on English > Installation Choose Provider Automatic Scan Press OK Channels found Exit Menu 1570 Turn EMU key ON Exit , exit , exit
Why not try a channel dump there is an updated one in Eamos FTA Library at the end of my post, (Starview folder first page you open second last from bottom). There is also a guide there on how to do this. Sorry but I have to leave, that should sort out your problem as you seem to be missing a transponder or two thats all.
Auto scanned my box in my neighbours and everything came in perfectly so its obvioulsy somethin to do with the line here. When the box is on here it just says no signal on the 'missing channels' is there even any point tryin to dump the channels?
No point whatsoever. Do you have a subbed box from N**, (one you pay a subscription for)? A signal booster may solve your problem also. I presume you have a basic package from N**?
i checked every channel and its all the channels on the frequency 394250 (setanta sports 2,god channel, celtic tv and the one i want lfc tv), Ye its basic ntl.Tried an old booster that is working fine in the kitchen where the line is split but still no joy.i might try get another new one but for some reason it doesnt want to pick up this particular frequency, which it did up to last week!
Very strange that you are just missing that one transponder, try a channel dump either way at least that will have these frequencies already and they may stay on your box.
cheers mate.il try locate one of those cables.hav a feelin its just d dodgy line,i mean it works around the corner but not in mine.thanks for your help though, really appreciate it
No problem the cable you need is a null modem cable similar to this one: If you are using a laptop it may not have a DB9 interface as most new ones dont. If this is the case you will have to also use a USB adapter in conjunction with the null modem cable. Do not mix a USB to Serial Cable when its USB to Serial Port Cable that is required. Some people get this wrong when asking. You then have the required Port to connect the Null Modem Cable to. Null modem info here http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=L71BT&DOY=2m6 USB Adapter info here http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx...t10&doy=search&MenuName=USB to Serial Adaptor When you have the cable/cables I have an updated channel dump file for your area and provider.
If you have a 9 pin port available on your pc/laptop yes as you can plug the cable directly into this and then into the box.
