    Hi,
After installing VobSub 2.23, DVDSanta 3.45 and VirtualDub 1.6.14 (i was trying to find an easy way to add subtitles to my avi before burning to dvd) now when i play an avi with Windows Media Player, Media Player Classic or Winamp, the picture is very very DARK. After authoring (?) in DVDSanta and burning to dvd, it plays in my player allright, except for the darkness bit. If i play the avi with VLC Media Player or Nero Showtime, the picture is PERFECT. Any ideas why this is so?

    Thanks so much.

Sounds like a codec conflict to me. Try installing the k-lite codec pack. You can find it in software section here at aD.

Or you could always just "Use the Force, Luke..."
