In general, is there a particular make/model of DVD Player that tends to read burned dvds with little to no skipping and is good at avoiding other types of read errors? I'm sure that some units are better at reading a variety of dvds...if someone can point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated.

I read your other thread also. My TV is not as large as yours.
I have a Philips 5960 upconverting DVD player. It cost me $70 at
Best Buy. The upconversion works really well on my TV. The other
thing I like about this player is it plays every kind of disc I put
in it. I ususally copy movie only to keep as much definition as
possible-still I see a good improvement when I use the upconvert
feature. The other thing I like about it is it remembers where
you stop in the last 5 movies played on it. Since I don't do
menus that comes in really handy. The other thing is the display
shows which chapter is playing and the time the movie has played.
Don't know how much help this info will be because as the screen
gets progressively larger you can probably tell more difference.
