    Hello all,
o.k. ive dowloaded DVD Decrypter, and copied 2 discs to my hard drive. Firstly, the're taking up over 7 gigs on my hard drive, will dvd shrink help with that? Next, what is a good program to burn them to a disc with? and lastly, whats a good program to watch them on my comp with? These may seem like simple questions, but ive looked at alot of the posts, and cant figure alot of this stuff out Can anyone help? Thanks

Now use DVDShrink and it will compress the video down to 4.3 Gig and that will fit on a DVD Disk. If you have Nero Ver.6 or better Shrink will use that to burn the video to the DVD. You can watch the video's in Windows Media Player or Real player ( Both Free ) or you can purchase a program to watch the video w/. Hope this answer all of your questions

thanks Mike, but i tried to view the movie with windows media, and it wouldnt work. Maybe i have to shrink it first? i'm gonna download dvd shrink tonight, and try it out. No, i dont have nero, but i think i might get it, as i've heard its good for working with audio files too. thanks again

well, i recorded it with dvd encrypter, and it made a file on my hard drive. when i look at the file, the first folder says "video_ts" then in that folder theres alot of other files. then i used dvd shrink to shrink it. but when i tried to use nero to burn it to a disc, its like it cant find it. I highlight the folder that says "video_ts" but it wont burn.
But to answer your question uffehagen,i can watch the actual disc using windows media player, but not the copy i burned to my hard drive, if thats what you mean. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks

mrburns you could also try to dvd2one it after you dvd decrypter it .....that does the same as dvd shrink when you have shrank the files down ....open up nero and select dvd video
there is a different way of doing it but cant remember of hand
when that opens up you should have 2 files
    audio_ts
    video_ts

select all the bup ifo and vob files that either dvd shrink or dvd2one crunched up to fit upon your +/-r blank dvd were ever you have them on your pc ....so that they are blue and drag all the files over to the

video_ts file and just pop them into the folder

click burn at the top and you should be away to burning your back up dvd's
    hope it helps

much thanks to everyone. i started the whole process over again, put the dvd in, used dvd-decrypter to burn to hard drive, used dvd-shrink and the trial version of nero i downloaded from afterdawn to shrink it. now i have the smaller file (4.8 gigs) on my hard drive, and burned the smaller version to a disc. it worked so well, i'm gonna go buy the regular version of nero this weekend. thanks again for the help
