Ok, so I purchased a Panasonic AJ-HDC27H camcorder and I was doing some test runs on the camera with my boom mic. The mic picked up some nice clear sound effects [I was in a city environment @ 0330], but the camera cut off from recording. When I got back to my production room I took the camera apart and saw that the processing unit connected to the record button was tampered [and not by me]. I put the camera back together, does anyone think I should take it to a repair shop to get it further evaluated. 45,000 USD for a camera can break a budget for a small production company. I would rent but come on. It's a Panasonic ProCinema camcorder. I couldn't help myself
I would certainly have someone look at it. If you'd like you can bring it to my house and I'll be happy to test it for a couple of years
