everyone knows avid is the best editing software for the professionals but everyone needs some help.
here is where you smart guys come in. so i need help?

when i get started i make a new bin then i want to edit an AVI so do i go to import and select the avi. but then avid starts reading the file doing something with quicktime...WHY? it takes a long time and says the something is missing from quicktime and it can not perform this task, all i want to do is open the avi.

DO i need to convert it to something esle?

    thanks

I"m not a Big Avid user as I do not agree that it is the Best, but I have Played with it once or twice and found it very Awkward to work with, But One thing I noticed is that it would not Accept any AVI files unless they were Uncompressed or DV AVI Files so if you are useing a different Video format then maybe this is your Problem....Just a Thought...good Luck...cheers
