I'm thinking of sending my xbox to be chipped (xecutor, i think) for emulation. just wondering, do you put emus (xsnes9x,dgen, xmame) on the hd or run from cd? will this cause a problem with xb live (playing originals of course)? and is that N64 emu for real? cheers
You can run emus from HD or from CD (if your X-Box is able to read CDs, most new ones can) or DVD. X-Box Live shouldnt be a problem as long as you DISABLE the BIOS first and its best to leave all the original dashboard stuff as it is on the HD as well, you used to need to rename the dashbaord but you dont anymore so just make sure you dont change anything that was on the HD when you got it (in other words back everything up just in case). The N64 emulator IS real but I havent tried it, from what I have heard it can only play the smaller games so im guessing Conkers is out of the question. :-( I happily emulate the Genesis and the Amiga on a regular basis, other emulators occasionally. X-Box Media Player is GOD. I cant seem to quite configure it right for my windows shares but its great being able to watch DivX with a decent picture on the TV, its a billion times better than the TV out chips they put in PC graphics cards (at least the ones I have seen on nVidia cards).
