man this whole video encodiing capturing editing thing is driving me crazy just when i think im getting the hang of it i get more probs. Anyway my latest struggle is , i have captured a film on my tv card using dr divx and that worked fine quality wasnt bad with a reasonable file size after this iwanna simply cut out adverts and bits i dont want which sounds so simple doesnt it but i have had endless probs trying to do it.

First of all i thought i would try my simple easy video splitter and easy video joiner programs and cut and join sort of thing but splitter doesnt split exactly where i want it and is usually 5 secs out o fthe start of the split.Anyay i thought i would just live that and join em up but the joiner is crap and says the files altoghether are about 6 mins long and just doesnt do the job.(i also tried avi mpeg spliter and joiner by boilsoft and same probs).

So now im trying virtual dub and nandub and ive tried using the mp3 freeze as it now says the splited parts have different audio which is i suppose coz its vbr mp3. So when i try and join em it still says different audio and dont work the i tried just deleting the frames i didnt want and then the audio and video is out and media player detects errors when i pla it back.

There has to be an easy way just to delete the adverts and scenes i dont want surely please can any1 help me please!!!!!!

OK...In virtual Dub if you have VBR-MP3 audio you will first have to make the AVI file with Uncompressed audio, you Just set the Video to "Direct stream Copy" and the audio to "Full Proscessing Mode" and set the audio compression to "None" and "save as AVI" your New AVI file will have uncompressed audio and this file will be able to be edited easilly in Virtual dub..and the reason why the Edits aren"t exactly were you want them is because all edits have to be made on a Key frame and if there is a Large gap between Key frames in your file this will make accurate editing Difficult....good Luck

Can you Play all the Files in Virtual Dub??? If so Then I don"t really know what it could be, You might try makeing a "Direct stream copy" of the File which will rewrite the stream index which can fix some Playback errors..But becides this I don"t know what it could be..I usually Don"t keep my fines in AVI for long as I usually make Movies I can watch on My DVD player like VCD/SVCD and Now mostly DVD"s....Cheers
