hi this has happened to me on a very lot of occasions recently. i have been on internet explorer and i would go on a page and i would get a box saying internet explorer has encounted a problem and needs to close. so i close it, then around a minute later i get another box saying symantec proxy server has encounted a problem and needs to close. i have installed firefox and there is no change it happens on firefox. i have defaulted my settings on them both and still no change. i run a virus check nearly everyday and my computer is squeaky clean. then when that goes off i am still connected to the internet through wireless (my router downstairs) and i go back onto internet explorer and i get a page saying page cannot be displayed. also on a few occasions i have been signed into msn messenger and the same has come up on internet explorer it closes and then for some reason even though i am still connected to the internet i get signed out of msn messenger, i go to sign back in and that isnt possible. I f you would need anymore information please ask. Thanks for any help.
@beeli It looks like your Symantec program has ecountred a problem and needs to b either removed and u can put avg on it, or unistall Nortons and all the Symantec software applications and then reinstall it and it would get rid of the error...
Had the same problem recently. Turned out to be Norton Internet Security acting up. I had Norton's system works 2005 installed at the time and removed it. Problem solved. I'm actually thinking of trying AVG soon but I am trying another antivirus(ie EZ antivirus) presently.
