ok..... been burning DVDs for ages.... have quite a nice collection.... and now I want to backup my Quicken files on CD .... and now my burner won't burn.... says that "drive is not accessible" I never had this problem before. I checked that I have DLA and I checked that I have DMA on the drive. What is going on? Why can't I burn to my CD-RW? I have always backed up my Qicken files and now it can't access my drive?? what's happening here? I tried to reboot and everything fails when I try to backup the files. But I can burn any DVD that's out!!!! And I can burn CDs in MP3 or CD format.... why can't I use my burner to backup my Quicken files???? I don't know why Quicken can't access my drive! Any help would be appreciated.

let me get this straight, you are trying to backup the files via a tool or option i quicken, if so, i doubt this burning software is good compared to nero or whatever you use to burn cds.

i would suggest finding the actual files on your hard drive and burning them like a data disc, drag the files into the cd rw drive

like I said this is weird......... I can't back up my Quicken files in the program...... I can put the files on a CD using other burning software.... but as I try to open the file up in Quicken..... Quicken says it can't open this file! weird!!!!! I can't explain it and I never had a problem before with Quicken..... I think I'll just upgrade the program and hope that this will be corrected with the upgrade. Thanks for replying.

dont know if this would work, but could you >save as... to your cd drive and then burn ?

    maybe try reinstalling it?

been there done that..... to no avail....... can burn CD/DVDs easily....... but quicken refuses to burn a back up of it's files! I told you this is weird! and when I just copy files to the CD Quicken won't allow to open those files so why even bother if the program won't even recognize the files that are there??!!!!
