I already have a cd/rw drive, and a DVD-rom drive. I just bought a DVD burner. I'm wanting to have all 3 of these drives hookd up, but I can't find any IDE cables that have 4 connectors on them. I don't even know if they exist. So what do I have to do to have all 3 of these drives hooked up? Thanks in advance!

Well the reason I want to do this is so that I can put the original dvd into the dvd-rom and have that read it, then have the dvd burner burn it to a disk..so that I don't have to be here to swap out the original DVD for a blank one...but after talking to a friend, he says that no dvd burning software will do that anyways (Read from one drive, then burn to another). Can anybody confirm this?

Most Ide controllers won't support more than 2 devices. I , personally, have never even heard of that. Get rid of the Cd-rw. The dvd burner will do cd-rw.

as for software nero will copy your dvd.

ide can only control 2 drives on each cable whereas scsi can do about 7 drives on each cable. if have 3 rom drives & 1 hd than slave the cdr to the hd & set the dvdr as master with the dvdrom as slave
