I am relatively new from taking my vcd file with sound to dvd with sound.
I am having 2 problems I am using the registered version of tmpegenc plus 2.53 and the guide from this website for vcd to dvd. The problem when I get down to the step where it tells me to convert my audio over to 4800khz it tells me it can not create the file. I have tried 4 different .mp2 files. I have changed the names left the name the same and nothing happened. I know it worked because a month ago it worked for me just fine now it do not want to work at all. I got the .mp2 file from using the directions of de-multiplexing using tmpeg enc. Any advice or other options would be helpful .

Ok second question I used tmpeg dvd author to author my dvd but it did not create the audio files. It has the video files but no audio and I know I included the file when it asked for the audio file but still it creates the audio folder but it puts nothing in the folder any advice.

And the final question. Will i get better results if I go from vcd to dvd or svcd to dvd.

Well Just use a seperate Audio Encoder to resample the audio to 48000hz...A good and Free one is Called "Headac3he".....
The other Question Made Me Laugh, There is Not supposed to be anything in the "Audio_TS" Folder, so don"t worry about it...
You can Not use Most DVD authoring programs to Put SVCD"s on DVD unless you re-encode the SVCD Files to DVD Specs or Try to fool the Authoring programs by Changeing the SVCD Headers, so it is Best to use a program called DVD-Lab which will Happily Author SVCD Files to DVD but you have to resample the audio like you did with the VCD"s....

Ok if nothing suppose to be in the audio folder then how do I get my dvd to burn with sound. I authored it with the correct sound working and I got the video to play great but no sound.

Thanks for the tip on how to resample the sound. I also do have dvd lab if that is better then tmpeg dvd authoring then can you let me know.

If there is No sound then it isn"t because there is nothing in the Audio_TS folder ,There was odviously something wrong before authoring that caused the audio to Go Missing, Did you remember to load Both the Video And the Resampled Audio into the DVD authoring Program??? Did you Listen to the audio After you resampled it to 48000hz to make sure it was OK, the only other thing I can think of is the Fact that Mpeg audio is Not DVD compliant in NTSC DVD"s unless there is another Audio Track that is either AC3 or Wav but I have never heard of a DVD Player not Playing a DVD With Mpeg1 Layer 2 audio...When authoring to DVD the Audio and Video are Muxed into the Vob files, so after createing the Video_TS Folder try Playing it with a Software DVD Player before burning the Folder to DVD-R...And Yes DVD-Lab is a Much Better program Accept I do not know if it will Support VCD"s on DVD because The 1.15 version Did not but the 1.13 version Might, I know it does support SVCD on DVD as I Backed up over 400 SVCD Movies I had on to DVD-R with DVD-Lab, and all Of the VCD"s I used to Make that I put on to DVD I used Mpeg2 for and Not Mpeg1 because of the Better Quality and Because My DVD Players would Play them, I still Encode any Downloaded Files I get to VCD Specs but useing Mpeg2 and a Higher Bitrate and Dolby Digital Audio(I guess that isn"t VCD at all) so I could Fit up to 4 Movies on each DVD-R...well good luck

Hey is there anyway I can talk to you through instant messsaging. The sound file is a little screwy it plays to fast when I play through my audio player. I am intersted in learning how you put those 4 vcd movies on one dvd and played them through your dvd player.

Well the Fast Playing audio is caused from Improper Resampleing, I have had it happen to me a Couple of Times ,I now use a High end Audio/Video Editing Program to create my Audio Files...I"m sorry But I do not use any Messangers or have any Installed as the Last time I started to Try to help poeple through messanger I couldn"t turn on my PC without being Mobbed By dozzens of Poeple asking me to Help them out ,so it got very Frustrateing ,Email Is OK for me But not messanger.....Putting 3 or 4 VCD movies on a DVD is Just as easy as Putting One VCD Movie on a DVD accept with Putting one VCD on a DVD you end up wasteing 2/3 of the DVD..Did you try the Other Audio Encoder I mentioned to resample the audio????

I tried headac3he and it did not work. I can not even get the program to launch, I downloaded the file that it asked me to download and it still did not work. I tried to use another program called besweet and I was following some instructions but my screen shot did not match the instructions so I just been waiting trying to find another resampling program.

Also when you put your vcds on a dvd did you convert them over to dvds or did you leave them in the mpeg format. If you left them in the mpeg format did you transfer all the folders or just the one with the mpeg file in it.

Well PM Me with your E-Mail address and I"ll send you a Working Headac3he...And No yo do not need to Encode the Video to DVD because the Video is allready in DVD Format as the SIF DVD format Supports Mpeg1 and Mpeg2 at 352+240/288-Pal which is what VCD video is...The Only File that you have to be Concerned about is the "AVSEQ01.DAT" file in the Mpeg2 or MpegAV Folder..It is also dgood to use a Program Like Vcdeasy or Maybe VCDGear to extract the Mpeg file off of the CD-R.....
