Howdy - This recurring TMPEG problem is driving me nuts. I'm encoding DV clips captured w/Scenalyzer to MPEG1. Resulting MPEG clips play fine in TMPEG preview window, and show correct number of frames and duration. Opened from the folder w/WMP clip is about a minute shorter and properties window shows a smaller file size. Same clip opened with QT Player plays correctly and has exact duration as original clip. I shoot legal depositions, and I use an on-line synch service to synch MPEG clips to the transcript. The synch SW strips the audio portion of the MPEG, uploads it to the company server, synchs it, and sends me back the MBD file. Of course, their SW sees the shortened clip, and can't synch the last minute of the transcript. As far as I can tell this only occurs with clips over an hour. Tests with shorter clips seem to be OK. I've reloaded everything (I mean everything) and it's not fixed. I think the problem must be a TMPEG thing. I've tried re-setting in and out points - no luck. Next I'll try adding a minute of black to the end of the original clip and see if I can get that to work. It's so strange that QT plays it properly and WMP doesn't. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any known work-arounds? Help! James C. Anderson, CLVS Trillium Video
This Should Work, All you have to do is you go into Tmpgenc"s "Source Range" settings and Select the Start and end Frames of your Source File, Now when you encode it should encode every frame between the 2 Points you select in the "Source Range" settings...... Cheers
Tried that. Nope. I think the problem might actually be WMP. As I said, the clips play fine in the output preview window of TMPEGEnc, as well as in QT Player. Another odd thing - I tried adding a minute of black at the end of a clip. I figured if a minute was trimmed again, only the black would be cut. Natch, nothing was trimmed at all! Result was a clip with a useless minute of black at the end. Next test is to see if a 5 second clip of black tacked on the end will have the same effect. But thanks anyway! Jim Anderson Trillium Video
