OK folks, I searched. Couldn't find anything even close to these questions. If I missed it, please accept my sincerest apology.

MY 30 day trial is up for Tmpgenc. It works for what I want which is to turn my .Mov files of the family into decent VCD's to watch on TV (+ VCDGear and Burnatonce) so I am ready to pay up. I go to their site and there is also a 3.0 express, which looks even better but all I have is a 1.7 GHz Celeron and the blurb here at AD says it was made for the Pentium 4.
QUESTION: Will it work for me???? Do I need it over the 2.5?

#2) regarding the above .Mov's of the family, they are 640x480 @ 15fps and I am trying to get the best quality possible from Tmpgenc...ANY configuration settings suggestions (I have read both Basic and Advanced guides here at AD) are greatly appreciated.

No. Xpress in an alternative to 2.5 Plus.
I, personally, use Plus 2.5 and, apart the AC3 plugin which I don't need since I author M2V and audio separately, I don't see great differences...

Thank you for sharing your experience. Actually, that's what I was hoping a pro would say since 3.0 requires periodic re-licensing and 2.5 does not.
Now if only I could figure out how to make 15fps smooth out, hmmm.
