Hi Chaps, I'm trying to encode an XviD AVI to DVD compatible Mpeg2, as per the guide. GSpot reports the avi as: 23.976fps, 624x352 (1.77:1) So, I choose the source format to be (1:1)VGA, and the 'Video Arrange Method' to 'Full Screen(keep aspect ratio)'. Now, I encode (high presc. motion search & 2pass vbr), and it seems to go well until 50%, when I get an error box that just says 'ERROR', and has a number in the box, something like -671048894 23011. Anyone came across this? Is it something I'm doing? I Googled, and searched the forums, but couldn't find this particular error. Also, when I was testing my settings, I cut a 1min segment of my source (with virtual dub), and it encoded ok, burned to DVD ok as well. I'm stumped! Any ideas appreciated. Cheers calex p.s. system spec - P4 3GHz HT, 800MHz fsb, 512Mb Ram.
Try: Setting__Video___"Rate control mode: Constant rate (CBR)" instead. Does it work? _X_X_X_X_X_[small]Read forum rules! http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/2487[/small]
no cbr will give blocky video. try CQ, but this will give an unpredictable filesize. what you can do is get CQMatic at kvcd.net but this seems like a problem of the directshow. go into enviromental settings and set priority for the directshow multimedia on the top of the list.
