I have installed the Klite Codec pack..But when I go to convert movies in to AVI with TMPGEnc, I can't get the DivX options box where I can set the settings in AVI.

I thought Klite installs all these DivX & Xvid codecs...So what do I need to do ?

Install the latest version of DivX on top of Klite ? I'm a bit afraid to do that for the fear of getting my codecs messed up..:(

    Pls help

I seriously suggest that you use something other than TMPGEnc for encoding to avi's. Try VirtualDub(Mod), see if they show up there.

As for k-lite. I couldn't comment, since there is no way I would be installing that crap on any of my PC's.

    Thanx for the advice..

I installed Klite because of the classic media player. To that I have installed Quicktime & real media plugins. (cause I hate real media when it tries to connect to the net every time I open the bloody thing)

I'm thinking of uninstalling Klite and installing the latest Xvid pack. (I read here that Xvid gives out better quality AVIs than DivX)

If I uninstall Klite my classic media player & the plugins will go with it. Is there a way to keep it? In your view is Xvid a better codec than DivX ? and Isn't TMPGEnc good as they say it is?

    Any suggetions?

TMPGEnc is ok, as an MPEG encoder that is. I just wouldn't suggest it for avi encoding.

There is nothing as far as I know in the k-lite codec pack that can't be downloaded independently. MPC definatly can and if you have quicktime and real player installed, then you have their codecs.
