I am trying to download this software from the site, but the version I get says it does not support the file type I am trying to encode and that I need the plug-in, but I can't find where to download the plug-in? I have followed all the links from several different pages on the AfterDawn site, but all I get is installation of the original software again that won't support the file type. Any ideas or I am going to have to purchase the software to get teh plug-ins? Thanks!
Well It would Have Been Helpfull if you Told us what Type of File you are trying to Encode??? As For Tmpgenc Plugins there are only 2 Plugins for Tmpgenc that would allow you to encode other file types..One if the QT Mov Plugin which allows you to encode Mov files, and there is a Mpeg2 Plugin that lets you encode Mpeg2 files....Becides this there really aren"t any others as all of the other Plugins are now Built in...So tell up what Type of file it is....
I am followijng the guide for DVD to VCD using Smartripper, TMPGE and I believe it is a VOB file that I have at this point.
Well The Guide Should Have a Part in it were you use a program called "DVD2AVI" to seperate out the correct Audio Stream and Decode it to Wav format and make a D2V Frameserver file, and that is what you encode in Tmpgenc..You can"t Really load Vob files directly into Tmpgenc and expect to get a working Mpeg file with Audio because Even though Tmpgenc should Be able to handle the Mpeg2 Video in the Vob but it can not handle the AC3 Audio... Here ,I will try to explain to you what you need to Do and what settings to use in DVD2AVI... #1) First Download this Program : http://arbor.ee.ntu.edu.tw/~jackei/dvd2avi/DVD2AVI_1.77.3.zip ... #2)Now extract DVD2AVI to a Folder and in that Folder you copy and Paste the "DVD2AVI.vfp" File into the Tmpgenc Install Directory..This is the Plugin so that Tmpgenc can read DVD2AVI Frameserver Files... #3)Now Run DVD2AVI and Go to "File" and to "Open" and Load in your Vob files in there Correct Order...Now you should see the Movie in the Programs Window.. #4) Now You have to do some settings in DVD2AVI.. A)If you are working with a NTSC Film DVD you have to go to "Video" to "Field Operation" and set it to "Forced Film" ,If you are doing a Pal DVD you should not do this setting.. B)Now go to "Video" to "YUV->RGB" and set it to "TV Scale" and Make sure the "ColorSpace" setting is on "YUV".. C)Now go to "Audio" to "Track Number" and set it to "Track #1" and under "Audio" go to "Optput Method" and set it to "Decode To Wav(AC3,LPCM)" and Under "Dolby Digital Decode" set it to "Dolby Surround DownMix" ..Now go to "Help" and Make sure the is a Check Mark next to "VFAPI Plugin"... #5)Now you Just go to "File" to "Save Project" and give the Project a Name and save it to the Destination of your Chioce and save the File.. #6)In a few Minutes you will have a File with a ".d2v" Extention and a .Wav audio file, Now you Run Tmpgenc and Load in the ".d2v" file in as the Video Source and the Wav File as the audio source and encode useing the settings in the Guide you are following to encode it and in a Couple hours you will have a Finnished Mpeg file that you can use for VCD.. You Might also notice that Smartripper makes a File with a d2v extention also but it doesn"t work well with Tmpgenc..You also can not Moove or delete or rename any of the Vob Files untill after you have encoded to Mpeg....Well If you Follow this exactly you shouldn"t have any problems makeing a VCD.....Good Luck
That did it. I was trying to load the d2v file I made with SmartRipper into TMPGE. Working fine now. Thanks so much!
