Im currently looking at getting a new internal dvd rewriter and I know on the internet you can purchase a samsung sh-w162c dvd-/+rw for a measly £30. However do not want to fit it myself. So I recently rang up a private computer store and they say they will supply an sh-w162c, install it and supply a copy of Nero 6 Ultra edition for £50. Is this an alright deal or are they trying to sting me? Any views will be appreciated.
I'm not great on money exchange rates but that sounds like around $88 US dollars installed? If the installation is $30 US dollars then that's about the going rate but I would look at other DVD burners as well such as the BenQ1640, (if available,)1650 or 1655.
Why not install it yourself. A swap out is a piece of cake! Usually takes as long to open the case as it does to swap the drives.
Indeed Paul, There are quite a few great guys on this forum that will be more than happy to guide you through it. It'll be an adventure!
Even though you stated; , I have to agree with StanH1000. It is very easy to do and someone here on aD can help you with it as well through a thread such as this.
Well cheerz for the offer but iv gone ahead and got it installed now. I did attempt to look at the connections inside but seen as though one of my exmates built the pc for me I couldn't find the extra cables already inside to slot into the dvd-rw. (Someone showed me on their pc how to do it but when I opened mine up it looked completely different, all new to this hardware installation as this was the first half attempt i was going to make ............... but failed miserably). Ne wayz cheers for the offer.
paul1085 Congrads! You're welcome and the offer will always stand. Which unit did you finally go with?
