I have used torrents freely for many years. Now that I am connected to a college network server, I am finding issues. I am trying to use Vuze/Azureus and Utorrent.

    Thanks for any help!!

Simply put, some colleges are restricting access to torrent sites from their servers. Basically, you have to talk to them about it.

You are S.O.L. You will not be getting onto torrents any time on campus. The tech people put big time and money into devising a system that prevents students from getting somebody sued, and if this system has been in place longer than a few months, the loopholes have already been found and filled.

Do what I did...move off campus and find a cheap apartment with free wireless internet where nobody cares.

A college campus I used to work security at, they had blocked out torrents, myspace, and facebook while I was there. Strangely enough, they also had notices for those taking online classes, not to use aol.
