I have a Samsung 50 inch DLP tv (new HLP model)
    Comcast cable box
Sony VCR and a Toshiba RD-XS32 DVD recorder.

Can anyone help with the connections of these four units so I can record from the cable onto the DVD and record from the VCR onto the DVD (I want to convert family VHS tapes to DVD-R)?

    The manuals are quite confusing.

    Thank you jjn

    hi jjn,
from your cable box connect an s-video cable from the out of cable box to input 1 of toshiba, and red and white audio cables- from cable out to input 1...that is your connection of cable box to dvd recorder...

next connect component video cable (red ,blue, green)out of toshiba output 1(and also red, white audio) connect to one of your Inputs of your tv.. thats dvd to t.v.
vcr is yellow, red, white OUT of vcr to Input 2 of toshiba dvd... thats vcr tapes to dvd...
    good luck
