My parents just gave me their old digital camcorder and I would like to transcribe the tapes I've made onto dvd. It has a firewire port, and my PC has a firewire card. I have quite a bit of experience with DVD ripping, compression, and burning software (DVDecrypter, DVDShrink, and Primo) but I am completely lost when it comes to this. Do I need any more hardware? If so, what? What is the best software to capture and burn my movies? By best, I mean something fairly intuitive and easy to use. I don't need anything fancy, but I don't want to compress the contents of the tape. If I have to use multiple DVD's to record contents of tape, that's fine by me but I would like to keep as much of the image quality as I possibly can.
Thanks in advance for your comments and suggestions.

PS If I'm in the wrong forum, sorry.
