k......here's my problem in a nutshell. I downloaded a movie that i want to watch and when it was done downloading, there was no zip file that i could "extract to". All I know is that I can use Nero Show Time to view the individual files (like 83) but i don't have any idea on how to or what the files are. Meaning, i don't what the ending of the file name is. An example of the file.......xpdvd-after-n-tsc-complete-dvdr.007 and there all in numerical sequence up to 83. I don't know how to burn the movie.............please help. hotivonn
sounds like you have .vob files. Have you tried to burn using Nero or clone by selecting the entire video folder?
I just thought of something, you might have .rar files in which case you will need to extract using a program called winrar which can be downloaded HERE. It is a compression somewhat like winzip. Unzip the lot and see what you get. Edit: I don't think this solution makes sense because you can view the files already individually... I'll get back to you, unless someone else has a solution?
I have asked for help on this one from my very knowledgeable buddy LOCOENG. Here is what he advised: post a screenshot of the folder so we can see the types of files and go from there. Also, this thread might be of some help. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/248020 Good luck, post the screenshot and we'll see what we can do. Thanks again LOCOENG!
A screenshot would help us a little to determine just what we are dealing with here. Open your folder with the files in it and press Alt+print screen to capture the active window, then save it with MS paint or the graphix editor you use and upload to imageshack or photobucket and post the picture here for us to take a look at.
it's nice to have a challenge every now and then. I just need to start remembering people might not know the basics of what I am even talking about. Like uploading a screen shot for example.
res2cue, You are absolutely right! I've always wondered how to upload a screen shot...Now, I know is no different from creating a sig pic. Learn grasshopper...Thanks!
Sounds like an hjsplit file to me. It works the same as winrar (or 7zip which is what I use), but splits the files without compressing. With Hjsplit, you can sometimes view the individual files. Yeah, but I agree that a screen shot will help the most.
SPlitting the file is for newgroups more then torrents, but most releases are then uploaded as torrents once grasbbed from newgroups.
I could never figure that one out myself... I only understood splitting when you use a free file host...
xpdvd-after-ntsc-complete-dvdr.001 I've seen the file type on torrent sites. XPDVD is a filesharing release group. The movie is After and it's in NTSC format. LOCO... is this a legal topic on AD?
..yeah, in this instance it's allowed.. Case: Discussion about pirated content and piracy, such as converting (downloaded) video and/or audio files to DVD/AudioCD/whatever format. PERMITTED
creaky beat me to it and as you can see, yes, it's permitted. We just can't help get the file, but from there it's fair game.
