My computer recently crashed and I lost all my ipod music and video. The only backup is on my ipod. What is the best program, freeware or shareware, that will let me selectively copy my ipod contents back to my pc. Thanks
Since no one answered your question. I will tell you a different way to recover your music. This is an easy way to get your music back. You can just copy the music with file explorer. ipods can be accessed like a disk (they are the only mp3 device made by Apple that you can do this with). Make sure to turn on view hidden files and folders (under the tools menue). The music is under something like ipod control. You can't miss it there are only a few folders and only one has control in the name. The music is in a sub folder called music. Just copy that to your hard disk. Apple obliterates the file names but the music and the tag data will be intact. This is actually much faster than using an import routine if you have more than a few gigs of goodies.
