sorry if this is in the wrong forum, im wondering if you can transfer files, songs mainly, to my xbox from my computer, i tried using network connections, nothing found, do i need to ftp using evox of a program like that, or would getright work? also if i can find a way to put my song on my xbox do i need to convert them to wav or mp3 or another layer, not sure bout the format, sorry if i confused you guys any, im new i dont know what to do, any help is appreciated thanx

well there is 2 ways i know and both will require you to make a connection between the PC and Xbox with a crossover cable once you can get an FTP connection set up you can either just transfer the files over to a foledr on your Xbox and use XBMC to play them from there. Or set up the folder on the PC for sharing and use XBMC to play them through the Xbox while the files are still on the PC You can also do the above with movies. Not sure what media formats XBMC can and can not play so that you will have to research.

this sounds kind of dumb but what is a dashboard? is that the main load screen on your xbox, also is there anywhere on this forum or index for some words, i know most computer terms, ive been around pcs awhile just wanna get to know the xbox well too just got one, any help is appreciated thanx
