I am not able to see the preview screen with Roxio or Windows Movie Maker.
Ooops (Firewire)...that's what I meant. Also my computer sits on the shut down screen and freezes. I think my driver for the firewire port is hanging it up. Any ideas on how I can shut off the driver automatically so my computer can shut down?
It shouldn't be running, after you shut down the capture software. Try a defrag of your drive to see if that helps. If it doesn't, make sure that firewire driver, or whatever, isn't running at startup of the computer.
