trap on 360 that shorts the drive out

Apparently there is something you can do to a 360 that will make it not work if opened. A modding shop near where I live does it so he can tell if you have opened it up after he has done his work on it so you cant blame him if your console goes down if you have tampered with it. I saw one of his spare wii drives and it looked as if a paper clip had been soldered onto the drives circuit board I could not see the modification he had done to the 360 I was just wondering if anyone else knew what he has done and yea its a well lame thing to do but I purchased a base unit off him as it was extremely cheap but I want to change the fans and get rid of the xclips prevention is usually better than the cure I also have heat sinks for the memory chips
