Hey, ive got an ipod touch 3rd generation, firmware 3.1.2 and ive been trying to jailbreak it with the application Blackra1n on my mac...

Anyways when i run Blackra1n, my ipod will go to the screen with the cord telling me to connect to itunes instead of showing a picture of Geohot.. then it doesnt reboot...

something is wrong with jailbreaking it but it could be that im just doing something wrong cause i am new to the ipod touch world.. i just got the touch 32 gig yesterday... PLZZZ HELP ME!!!!

Which version does it read on blackra1n? When you open blackra1n does it read RC1, RC2, RC3 or what?

So you can't start it up after this jailbreaking process and you need to restore it, right?

Did you try scrolling to the right in the menu? blackra1n will appear there if anywhere

It's not there... I have a third gen... So even if it did work it is tethered.. And when I get the recovery screen I have no choice but to turn it off... Sooo it wouldn't be there

I have a mac..... There is no taskbar, there's something called startup disk, and yes I turned it off and still didn't work... Maybe you should look at the older posts ^^^

I am also having the same problem but I am using windows xp and after it tells me to connect to iTunes the screen just turns black and stays the same until I reboot the iPod. Also when the screen turns black it shows me or tells me that it is done.
