open the avi in virtualdub and follow these steps..

    1. Click Video and select "direct stream copy".

    2. Click audio and select "Full Processing Mode" and click audio again and click compression.

    3. When the compression window comes up click "No Comression" and click ok.

    4. Now click file - save avi. The output file has a better chance of encoding properly in TMPGEnc than the original file.

This only take a few minutes too!

have got audiodub but have not used it be4. i have followed your instructions but nothing seems to happening,it just keeps saying "requested audio compression is not compatible with input format". Check the sampling rate and channel count of the input match those of the requested format.

try using avi2wave, or decompress sound first
using avi2vcd then use virtual dub it works
sometimes when i get the same error popups
