ok, I am still quite new to this xbox mod stuff but i am pretty far so far. My problem is that flashFXP keeps saying connection timed out or connection refused. Here is what my EvoX settings look like:

    TYPE
    IP 0.0.0.0
    LINE STATUS 100/FULL DUPLEX
    ETHERNET MAC ADDRESS 00.5:F2:A7:96:60
    SETUP NETWORK YES
    USE STATIC IP NO
    IP 192.168.0.2
    SUBNETMASK 255.255.255.0
    DEFAULT GATEWAY 192.168.0.1
    DNS 0.0.0.0
    DNS 0.0.0.0
    SETUP DELAY 10

I could really use a step by step after this point. I am using a Linksys ethernet card directly connected to the Xbox through a crossover cable. And I have installed an xecutor 2 Lite chip in the Xbox. Any help would be greatly appreciated

you have to set the ip address for your network card to 192.168.0.* (* anything from 0-255 excluding 2)

ok, I tried setting IP to 192.168.0.4 my subnet mask to 255.255.255.0 and left the default gateway blank....when I try to connect I type IP 192.168.0.2 user:xbox Pass:xbox
but I still get connection timed out.

I noticed that you have StaticIP set to "No". Set it to "Yes" and that IP you specify should work just fine.

As to the router question. No, you do not need one. I have my Xbox plugged into my home network hub and any of my computers and upload stuff to the Xbox.

I am having the exact same problem. If you managed to fix the problem I would much appreciate if you would post what you did.

make sure you saved the change to the static IP to yes. Also make sure the cable is plugged in very well in the back of the xbox.. you may need to turn the box on and off a couple of times before it takes.. that works for me anyways.

Still no joy! I am still getting timed out.
I definently have a connection between xbox and pc as when I turn my xbox off I get a informed on the pc that a network cable has been unplugged.
My settings on my xbox are:
    Type: Static
    IP: 192.168.0.3
    Line Status: 100/Full duplex
    Ethernet MAC address: 00:50:F2:67:3A:C2
    Setup Network: Yes
    Use Static IP: Yes
    IP: 192.168.0.3
    Subnetmask: 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1
    DNS: 0.0.0.0
    DNS: 0.0.0.0

I have connected my xbox directly to my pc using a crossover cable and the software I am using is Winroute pro, Flash FXP and EvolutionX v1.8.3285.
Any help would be much appreciated as I have hit a stumbling block and can get no further. Thanks.

OK. Finally got it to work. What I did was I ran a network wizard on Windows. After it has set it up it reboots and hey presto. Hope this helps.

Finally I got it....Thanks greenhorn on that network config. I think that really helped. For whatever reason I just ended up using the IP my computer assigned to the Xbox.....man I am glad thats over with!
